Hidden away just off Point Nepean Road in Tootgarook, The Hidden Kitchen is a relaxed neighbourhood café loved for great coffee, friendly faces and cabinets filled with familiar favourites.
Whether you’re grabbing breakfast on the run, meeting friends over coffee, picking up lunch for the beach or treating yourself to an award-winning pie, we’re here to make life a little easier, and a lot more delicious.
With cosy indoor seating, a sunny dog-friendly courtyard and cabinets filled fresh every morning, it's the kind of place locals visit several times a week—and visitors are always glad they found us.

The Hidden Kitchen is getting ready for its next chapter.
We’re working on some exciting changes behind the scenes and can’t wait to share what’s coming. Over the next few weeks, you may notice things beginning to look and feel a little different.
While we prepare for what’s next, the favourites you know and love will continue to be available in-store.
What started as a tiny bakery tucked away in Tootgarook has grown into four venues across the Peninsula, with an incredible team of almost fifty locals helping us do what we love every day.
While the baking now happens from our purpose-built kitchen at The Rye Kitchen, The Hidden Kitchen will always be home. It's where the journey began, and it still has that same relaxed, welcoming feel that made us fall in love with it all those years ago.
Every morning, our cabinets are filled with fresh sandwiches, wraps, salads, award-winning pies, sausage rolls, sweet treats and plenty of reasons you'll leave with a little more than you planned.
Our baking team prepares everything fresh each day in our dedicated production kitchen before it's delivered fresh to The Hidden Kitchen each morning, so you can enjoy the same quality we've become known for—just with a little more room to create it.
FRESH MEDALS FOR OUR FAVOURITES
We’re proud to have brought home another collection of medals from the latest National Great Aussie Pie Competition.
Our sausage roll earned a Gold medal once again, while our beef and burgundy pie and shepherd’s pie each received a Bronze medal.
These days, our pies, sausage rolls, pastries and sweet treats are handmade by our baking team at The Rye Kitchen before being delivered fresh to The Hidden Kitchen and our other Peninsula venues.
The location of the bakery may have changed, but the recipes, care and familiar favourites remain part of The Hidden Kitchen story.
THE FRIDGE OF DELIGHTS
The Fridge of Delights has become something of a local institution.
Filled with fresh meals, salads, desserts, café favourites and grab-and-go goodies, it’s the perfect stop when you need dinner sorted, lunch packed or simply something delicious waiting in the fridge at home.
