Position: Chef de Partie – Full Time

Location: The Kitchen, Tootgarook

We’re on the lookout for a talented Chef de Partie to join our crew at The Kitchen, our flagship venue here on the Mornington Peninsula.

If you thrive in a busy, well-organised kitchen, love working with fresh local produce, and want to be part of a genuinely supportive team, you’ll fit right in.

Our menus change with the seasons and our chefs are encouraged to bring ideas to the table — literally. You’ll work alongside an experienced leadership team (Executive Chef, Head Chef, and Sous Chef) who value collaboration, creativity, and great food made without the fuss.

Position: Part-time Front of House All-Rounder

Location: The Kitchen, Tootgarook

We are seeking a versatile Front of House All-Rounder to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival with a warm and friendly demeanor.

  • Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing recommendations when requested.

  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.

  • Assist with food service, including delivering dishes to tables and ensuring orders are presented correctly.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area, including dining tables, bar area, and beverage stations.

  • Handle cash and card transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Assist with opening and closing duties as required, including setup and breakdown of dining areas.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred.

  • Proficiency in making espresso-based beverages and basic knowledge of coffee preparation techniques.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Basic knowledge of wine varieties and willingness to learn more.

  • Availability to work one or two nights a week in addition to regular full-time hours.

Position: Part-Time Weekend Supervisor

Location: St Andrews Kitchen, St Andrews Beach

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Part-Time Weekend Supervisor to join our team and help ensure our café operates smoothly during busy weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee café operations during weekend shifts, ensuring excellent customer service and smooth workflow.

  • Supervise and support café staff, providing guidance and direction as needed.

  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including setup and breakdown of equipment, cash management, and ensuring cleanliness.

  • Take customer orders and handle transactions accurately and efficiently.

  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages and food items, maintaining quality and presentation standards.

  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed.

  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a café or hospitality environment, with some experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Basic knowledge of coffee preparation techniques preferred.

  • Availability to work weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays.
